Water for Thermal Power Generating Stations

Thermal Power Plants consume large amount of water. Work on new design is going on in order to reduce the consumption.

The raw water is sourced primarily from rivers followed by a lower percentage of ground water.

Basic water requirement of power plants is for steam generation. Low TDS soft water is required at this stage. Since presence of mineral salts cause scaling inside boiler drum, the sourced water is been treated first to make it fit for use.

On the next stage the water is needed to be treated by means of dosing chemicals. pH correction, de-aeration etc. are some of the necessary steps of processing boiler feed water.

For high pressure applications, i.e. inside boiler drum additional dosing of Phosphate is required.

LP (Low Pressure) dosing, generally been done at operating pressures <100 kg/cm2.
HP (High Pressure) dosing being done for operating pressure ranges 100 – 230 kg/cm2.

All our Dosing Systems are tested for 1.5 times the operating pressure.
